Shadow had many lessons for me
Shadow
We brought Shadow home, and he quickly settled in. He was playful, curious, and loved to snuggle. As part of a routine doctor’s visit a few years later, we learned he had Chronic Kidney disease.
Not long after his diagnosis, he had progressed to needing IV fluids twice a week, and it was suggested he go on a prescription diet. We tried the prescription food. He was used to eating human-grade food, and this wasn’t close. It smelled terrible, and he didn’t like it. I started researching, trying to figure out what I could do, and found a holistic vet.
The holistic vet asked me if I’d be willing to cook for him. Of course I was! I’d do whatever he needed. She told me about a diet I could use and explained how to make sure I could provide all the nutrients he would need. We had some success, and his bloodwork showed he was maintaining. I was happy we had slowed things down, but I wanted to do more.
I learned Reiki and gave him regular treatments. I also discovered ThetaHealing®. I took several courses earning my certification, all in the hopes of helping Shadow. I continued giving him Theta treatments, reiki sessions, and cooking for him for a couple of years before he started to decline. I was aware of a post-certification ThetaHealing seminar focused on specifically healing animals and animal communication. I eagerly took it. It helped for another year.
Sadly, Shadow continued to get worse. I had done all I could for him, and it was time to let him go. Even though I knew the time would come, I wasn’t ready. It seemed like I had just said goodbye to Lucy and now had to say goodbye to Shadow.
I wanted, maybe needed, to find a way to be able to continue to communicate with them. While the ThetaHealing seminar was informative and helpful, it really didn’t delve into the communication aspect as much as I was hoping. I began researching animal communication courses, and found the perfect course and signed up for the next available offering.
I will forever be grateful for Shadow being a part of my life. Despite it being such a short time, he taught me so much and guided me along the final steps to becoming an Animal Communicator.
It is truly one of the greatest gifts to be able to keep in touch with all of the amazing animals I have lost.
