I think I’ve always been able to speak intuitively

Some of my earliest memories are of dreams with a reoccurring hero, Charles. Charles was a six-foot-tall talking yellow rabbit with a human face, and he terrified me. He always showed up to save me from life or death situations, but despite that, he scared me to death. Can you blame me? He was a big talking rabbit!

When I was about four, I woke up from a nap, and Charles was in my room. Crying hysterically, I ran to my mother, crawled into her lap and threw my blanket over my head.

Charles followed me and sat down in a chair. He told me he was there to let me know he was my Guardian Angel, and he would always be there for me. I didn’t really know what that meant, but I understood he wasn’t leaving, and he was scary.

I asked if he would follow me if I moved, hoping he’d say no. But he told me he’d still be with me. He explained that even when I couldn’t see him, he’d be there, making sure I was okay. We went through a few more questions, and his answers were always the same. He would always be a part of my life and someone I could count on to help when needed. This didn’t make me feel better at the time, but as I grew older, I’ve found comfort in knowing he was nearby.

Throughout my life, Charles has kept his word. He no longer plays the hero in my dreams, but he still makes his presence known in different ways. Recently, during the summers, I’ve been visited by a single yellow butterfly. When I see it, I intuitively know it’s Charles, and it brings a smile.

My mother and I talked about this many times over the years. For quite a while, I didn’t understand how she didn’t see Charles was there, in the same room as us or hear him talking.

She has always maintained that I was still dreaming or hallucinating. I will forever believe this was my first experience speaking intuitively. That early interaction forever changed my life, opening up a new world to me.
